Cruddy weather yet again .. well done NIWA

I was going to go and shoot a few photos at the NHL Hockey match at our local Hockey Center today but as usual, its going to rain and I for one am sick of overcast days and crappy light for photographic work..bummer

Check out this set of modeled forecasts for the country. This is supplied by Niwa and is supposed to show what the weather is likely to be like over a 3 month period.

I frankly dont know why they bother. As any local person will tell you in the last 3 months we have had between 1 and 3 times our monthly rainfall totals. Rivers are at flood levels and the forecasters are telling us that we may have another 60mm of rain over the next 24 hours.

The boffins at Niwa convinced the government to buy them a nice shiny new super computer, and they forecast rubbish. Ah ... our tax dollars at work.

Frankly if this is the rubbish they want to put out do they really expect us to believe that global warming is an actual scientific probability? I doubt it. We aren't likely to suffer global warming, global drowning will get us first !!!
